"Off Menu": Black Korina Flying V with Zitricote Ken Lawrence Neck

Nail Polish also works great for side dots, once I put together an Epiphone with a Warmoth neck.... yes, I know, IT CAN'T BE DONE! This neck didn't have side dots, now it does. Also, smashed the Mahogony body with the neck plate. (n):poop: There are a few flaws with that guitar, but I still like it for what it is. Well done on the KL, this is a fun thread to follow!

Final update time - the guitar is done!

Here's the body after 22 days of drying:

I accidentally ordered normal humbucker pockets (not wood-mounted), so I had "fill them with wood". Was a pain in the ass (used super glue) but worked just fine eventually:

In order to do a direct mount, I needed some cushioning. Easy fix - the foam from the Seymour Duncan packages:

Oh yeah, and loads of copper shielding tape:

Here's my first nut job ever (with Ibanez nut files). As you can see, the sanding wiped away some of the walnut stain which is no problem because it'll be behind the truss rod cover:

Soldering away. Also you can see that I added black (instead of stock silver) springs and a tremol-no + put on my beautiful neck plate:

Will post final pictures in a separate reply.

Looks awesome! I never thought of using the foam from the pickup packaging. That’s a really good idea.

Alright guys, apologizing for the late reply. The guitar has been done for 2 weeks but for work reasons, I barely found the time to log on to UW. But I have already played it 3 times at rehearsal and can confirm that a) it looks better than on the pictures, b) it's the best sounding metal guitar I own (Seymour Duncan Black Winters are one of a kind) and c) it plays like a knife going through butter... sooo smooth.

Here are some pics, I hope you like it :)

@stratamania @Spud @vernschrock @aarontunes @Floyd_Argus and all the others here who have been a great inspiration. Thanks!
