Man, I am having a tough time learning how to mix bass guitar.  I've retracked the lead and rhythm guitars and they sound much cleaner now.  Hope you enjoy.

:headbang: Thanks!  Bass is the thorn in my side!  I have so much left to learn with mixing it.

Thank you.  I'm at the point where I think I need a mentor or lessons.  I feel frustrated and stuck!

I'm not able to help much other than commenting on what I hear.

I just recently got a Mac and Logic, after using Cubase in the past on the PC, but I haven't done much for ages. I also got a UAD Apollo Interface. I need to find a few lessons myself, I thought I might give Lynda.com a try to begin with. Of course I've managed to get things working but I want to get a little deeper. After that I suppose there's the likes of Berklee online or similar.

Time is the hold up, crazy busy with work at the moment. But need to get something done with it.  :eek:ccasion14:

If you can manage it, shop around. Sign up for lessons from several different teachers at once, then cull the herd. Some teachers know a lot, but have trouble communicating it. Some just give it lip service. Some will inspire you, and some are better at seeing where you're at than others and so are more able to get you to progress. There's no governing body or certification involved, so you never know what you're going to get until you throw some time/money at it.

On the plus side, if you can call it that, there is absolutely no organization to the whole thing, so you can walk away any time you want. Be sure that you do if you're not getting what you want. You'll eventually meet someone who enriches your efforts and capabilities. Might even take years. But, when it happens, it's very satisfying.

Thanks Doc!

Someone at Universal Music reached out and said my mix is good enough for mastering.  I'll let them do a test track and we can take it from there. I'm going to see if I can ride along with a few engineers too.

That is incredibly cool!  Great opportunity.  Good luck!
