Can some one tell me if Reranch laquer would be compatible to a duplicolor laquer base coat. Tonar perhaps ??

You can always shoot lacquer over lacquer, but changing brands may change the way it behaves during application due to different additives. More or less retarder, ring reducer, solvent, etc. will require that you adjust your gun differently or change how you sweep your spray.

Thanks Cagey, I know my brush-on sanding sealer acted different, but i never mixed spray-on brands before.  Thanks again.

Reranch is Nitrocellulose lacquer. The clear coats will yellow over time. I had a Kramer guitar that did just that after about 10 years. The Acrylic lacquer clear that Duplicolor uses will not yellow over time. I've used Duplicolor before for guitar projects, however, I still prefer using automotive urethane for guitar finishing.

I have mixed Re-ranch lacquer with Lenmar and McFadden lacquers.
I just used the Re-ranch for the color coat.

Never had a problem.

This is nitro on nitro.
