Removing tung oil and stain

I think you're right in that I won't be able to get much of the stain or tung oil off because it is soaked into the wood. It would kind of be like trying to wash off a suntan.

One question though, could I put more tung oil on it, but do so with a tint of brighter red? I used the colour sedona to initially stain it with Minwax. It came out looking more brown than sedona red.

So are you an actual social worker where you are the case worker? Presently I supervise an emancipation home here in Colorado for youth. I also do tracking for the Department of Youth Corrections.

I work as a counselor with youth how are involved in the criminal justice system. I'm currently on parental leave; I've been off since December 14th and don't have to go back to work until September 5. It's a pretty sweet deal. One parent is entitled to the benefit provided that they have paid their employment insurance benefits through taxes. My wife is a stay at home mom so we decided that I should take the parental leave.

I suppose it's worth a shot. But, I think tinting the tung oil red and putting it over dark brown is only going to darken it more, heading toward sort of an auburn shade.

I wonder what a nice slathering and vigorous brushing (Rubber gloves! Eyes!) with some bleach might do? It's water-based of course, and after bleaching you'd need to rinse it very well and let it dry very well, before resuming an oil-based regime. But that's kind of what bleach does - bleach stuff.
