He's a legend in certain circles but totally unknown in the mainstream... King Buzzo (aka Roger Osbourne), frontman of the Melvins.  This is an amazing band.  Kurt Cobian was their roadie, and listening to the Melvins really puts Nevermind in context.

Probably not that great a picker, but nobody else can project heaviness and energy at the same time like King Buzzo can.

By the way, their drummer (Dale Crover) is truly spectacular.  Melvins have had varying luck as far as bassists go, you can read more  here (http://www.themelvins.net/wiki/index.php?title=Melvins_Bassist_Morgue).  Lorax was their bassist on Houdini, their best album IMO.  She's Shirley Temple's daughter, of all things.
