I picked up a Jap Fender body for a good price, intending to refinish it. I'm sure the existing finish is polyurethane, someone correct me if you know better.
I don't really want to go to the trouble of stripping it, and the house painter in me knows that paint can be painted over, so...
My plan it to prep the existing paint (sand, fill a few dings, sand again, etc.) and then prime with white shellac primer (Zinnser's BIN).
After that??
Any help is always appreciated.
