Also - your speakers have as much or more inpact on your tone as your brand/style of bass does, at any kind of volume. A 4X10 closed-back cab has roughly the same cone area as a single, ported 18, but wholy cow, they're like two different instruments. Ask any groupie when she's drunk enough, and she'll tell you the truth - it all sounds the same, she thought your goatee was "kinda cute...." :laughing7:
