question about thinline bodies

will the standaard tele control plate work on one. I'm not really fond of the pick gaurds you see on most  of them. I'm thinking about doing one but would like to use a standard tele pick guard

Nope - if you want to lose the pickguard get one rear routed

Instead of getting a thinline you could get a hollow standard tele with an F-hole.  That might be closer to what you are after.
