Push-push pots?

Hey folks,

Just a dumb question, how does a push-push pot mechanically operates?

I mean, a push-pull will pull up and push down so you'll always know what position the switch is in or which leg is engaged by looking at it.

Is it the same for a push-push or is it just like a Desktop Computer 'power button' like it's always the same position so you can't know whether it's on or off?

The push/push will be at two noticeable distances, so you know when it's on or off.

Personally I also like that I only have to push - no matter what - so I don't have to think about that while busy playing. YMMV.

I'm told that some push/push pots are of a very bad quality. But I have only used the good quality ones and never encountered problems.

How do I know if it's good brand, like the ones Warmoth carries, any feedback on those ?
