It's here. And I couldn't be happier.

I was afraid it would be over the top, and maybe it is, but it's absolutely gorgeous. The flame is so deep that I am sad I will have to put a guard — nay, to screw a guard on it. At the very least, the Updown shape is in order.

And I love the color — under direct daylight, the purple has a slight cold, blue-ish tint, but the whole thing, purple and clear, shifts to warmer hues when the light strikes it differently.

Oh, and the weight! I don't think I ever had such a light guitar body. Granted, it's 3lbs., 10oz and you can easily buy a 3.0lbs body from W, but when I received the thing I could not believe there was a guitar body inside.

By the way, I guess you know how much 3lbs 10oz is in metric units.

Really nice!

It's one of those where it's like, I'm not really a purple guy but... Dang!!!  :icon_thumright:

Thanks guys. I was worried about having second thoughts until I received it, but when I opened the package these doubts vanished instantly. I really love the depth of the figure and of the finish. Can't wait to give her a neck, some pickups, hardware and a name.

VM flame maple (one piece) with SS6150 frets. I have it already, and am currently finishing it with tru-oil. As some have pointed out, a dark fingerboard may look better on this body, so maybe I'll order one and keep the maple neck for the next build, but I'll give the maple neck a chance first.

Come on, she's beautiful as she is, she doesn't need those things  :toothy12:

Great top, sad to see the packing method hasn't changed. Somebody drops something heavy on those two pieces of cardboard and a thin piece of foam, kiss that beautiful top good bye... That is amazing though... Congrats...

Maybe I'm too picky but actually there are 4 layers of cardboard on top and botom.. agree it's not a rack case but I feel it's at least enough.

And congratulations! That is great piece of wood!
