I was inspired by the recent Blacktop Jazz Bass.
So I figured I'd just make one, I'm also a 5-string addict.
So this is the first version, I'll post more pics in about a week or so, going to a killer outdoor festival!
Here're the specz:
Wenge/Ebony Fingerboard w/Le Tusq & Scha. lite tuners
Alder Body w/La 2tek
2x Nordstrand NP5s
500k Pots Volume-Volume-Tone-Blank (for now)
I plan on adding...something...later, maybe also some knobs. I bought vintage knobs from Warmoth, they don't fit vintage pots! Oh No's! :doh: Seems to be lots of room in the electronics rout, and the battery box is empty. That's all I'm going to say!
Send your thoughts, I'll post video at some point, I've already had some interest on the P-P setup. The bridge pickup is the same distance away as your average Jazz Bass. This produces a very Jazz Bassy tone. I've missed single coils, so nice to back at them.
