Post what you're listening to!

Love David Byrne.  I hear echoes of Lou Reed in his delivery.  I saw him in a dive with the talking heads so many years ago.

One of my current favorite guitar players, Winnipeg native Ariel Posen, just knocks me out with his slide playing.  Such control and musicality, dead-on intonation.  He completely plays for the song while simultaneously demonstrating real muscle in his chops.

New Band-Maid song. If the costumes annoy you, just close your eyes and listen to the music... Pretty solid... Rin'ne by Band-Maid.

Allman Brothers Band unplugged for a terrific take of "Melissa," circa 1989? 1990?

Enjoy, y'all.

Chris Thile, Chris Eldridge, Jeremy Kittel, doing a fiddle tune medley of surpassing loveliness.

Y'all clear your calendars for half an hour, because this performance is worth it.  The Tedeschi Trucks Band doing Allmans classic "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" the night after Butch Trucks's passing in tribute to the great drummer, with his nephew Duane Trucks sitting in on drums and former Allman Brothers Band guitarist Jack Pearson giving a master class in how to jam.  Band interpolates "Soul Serenade" at 24:00ish.  So very good.  One of the best Elizabeth Reeds I've heard.

The Main Squeeze, previously noted in these pages for their sizzling cover of "Have A Cigar," now tackle the mighty Zep's "Since I've Been Loving You," and they make it smoke.

Nicely done. Must be nice to have a singer who can pull off LZ tunes without any of the dreaded compromises.

Indeed - the kid's got a great soul singer voice, and it works really well with the dinosaur rock they're covering.

Insanely good! Great singing, exceptional guitar work, very tight combo. Loved their rendition of Have a Cigar, hope they do a show near me!  :headbang:

Everybody here was shocked and saddend to hear of her passing even if many knew about her illness.
A great singer.

If you're like me, you love some Tom Waits music.  But if you're like me, sometimes you find the Tom Waits catalog a little heavy going because it's sung by Tom Waits, who could be charitably characterized as an acquired taste.  Well, have we got a deal for you!  Here is a beautiful set of covers of TW's stuff by some of the loveliest voices known.  I submit for your enjoyment, "Come On Up To The  House", a TW tribute album sung by the likes of Shelby Lynne, Allison Moorer, Roseanne Cash, and many other top-shelf interpreters of song.

No video, but you don't need the visuals to appreciate a TW song - you build your own.

David Grissom plays a set for tips along with Carter Arrington on second guitar, Scott Nelson on bass, and the irrepressible Kirk Covington on drums and having the time of his life.
