Post what you're listening to!

I'm not really one for technical skill over innovation or emotion (whatever that means), but I'm never heard a singer miss the note as much as Florence Welch.

Maybe It's just me.

I thoroughly recommend you don't listen to Joanna Newsom then

Goes to check....

:cool01:

She seems to be hitting the note she's aiming for, it's just an odd target she's going for. I mean that's fine, but she's no Mary Ocher  :guitaristgif:

I genuinely like that, I preferred Oasis when Liam deliberately sang sharp, as being irritating was sorta more interesting than usual 90s indie, I love the way Genesis P Orridge could sound out of tune even when there nothing in tune to be out of tune too.

But I can't understand how a mainstream pop singer can sacrifice pitch for power volume, and still be so highly regarded.

Anyone calling me an old hippy will be strenuously ignored.

And I'm still deciding if I like St Vincent. Every time I hear this I alternately love it then hate it. But I can't get it out of my head.

Ya old hippie!  :evil4:

I appear to have spent the entire weekend uploading my old Who vinyl Bootlegs up to youtube,  :guitarist gif:

Time well spent I guess.

Because no one else in the world can make a Stratocaster sound this beautiful ...

Your link won't play in the States. But, since that's such a nice piece, I found one that would...

I love how he plays this, this is JB pulling out all the stops.

Often imitated, never equalled.

Personally, I can't get past the bass solo on that one. Tal Wilkenfeld is really f!¢#i$% good!

I've been watching "Avenged Sevenfold: Live In The LBC" (well, ever since it came out, really...) and specifically when they play "Afterlife". Synyster Gates is a god at sweep picking...

Skip to 3:50 if you just want to hear the solo

Really digging these songs:

You hit me right in the childhood with The Killers...  :laughing7:

Ha! I love the Killers' original stuff! Love their sound, one of the most perfect, IMO, mix I've heard.

I really like JB's reaction, he seems to genuinely enjoy every solo Tal Wilkenfeld plays.

And this is a great pic from TW of her headphone mixer on a recording session ...

I'm just gonna add it here:

Yeah, that's Joe Walsh, Ringo Starr, Keb' Mo', Mick Jagger, Mike Finnigan and Jim Keltner.

She's an impressive player. Here she is at Montreux w/Herby Hancock. Once he get's over his wiring problem they settle into a pretty good groove:

Ok, I'll throw this in ... I think Timmsie95 might like this (and I don't think he or many here have heard the amazing Ia Eklundh) - check out the fretless guitar solo!

wow, I don't think I could play a fretless guitar.. I've played a fretless bass, but I don't think I'm accurate enough to chord (let alone solo...) on a fretless guitar.  :party07:
