Looking for an appropriate low noise matched JFET pair - I found a bunch of discontinued parts, and this new darling of the audio community:

You know, some of those example circuits look all the world like a long tailed pair phase splitter...

That's because they (and this stomp box circuit above) are a differential amplifier. It's differential input, differential output.

Found spice models and slowly dusting off the cobwebs of my brain. I'm frankly amazed at all the spice that went into my JCM800 cyborg project. I had switching power supplies modeled and all... And now I'm scratching my head trying to make basic circuits work.

Figured out what was wrong with my simulation, got one more hail mary pass to see if one of the techs at work can salvage my Schatten preamp. Otherwise I'll get cracking on layout this weekend.

I have the Graphtech Bridge with the Ghost Piezo saddles equipped and one time I wanted to know if there was a difference, so I brought the guitar to Guitar Center and holy smokes there is a tremendous difference between going through a (tube guitar amp) versus going through a (Fishman Loudbox). It was like night and day.

Not sure if that helps, just my own experience.
