Not sure why you'd want to, but if it's possible to get slices that thin, I imagine its mechanical characteristics would make it undesirable. Torrified Maple is fairly brittle, so just attaching it would probably be a challenge to do without splitting it at least once. Even those tiny tuner anti-rotation screws have been known to split headstocks, just to give an example.
You can get Maple pickguards from some suppliers - you could get one of those and stain/finish it to suit, if appearance is what you're looking for.
