Was it already sold but still showing in the showcase ? ..... strange
Anyway .... Nothing wrong with that one ya scored :headbang:
Looks like a nice even amount of birdseye spread all over it ......
I'll get you, to pick my next neck for me :icon_biggrin:
Yeah, that looks like what happened. I don't really blame them though, human error, it happens. It sucks that it happens, but it does.
I'll tell you this though, it was odd from the beginning. You saw the pics of the first neck. Obviously I took those from the Showcase page. The description on that neck didn't match up in a few places. As you can see, if you go back and look, it's just an unfinished neck. You know how the "Buy It Now" section on the right has the options? That didn't have them, only the buy it now button. Then, in the description it said "no nut install" and it was also showing "6150 Stainless frets". Clearly you can see that there are no frets on that neck. Anyway, when I placed my order the guy on the phone was like "That's weird, hold on" and he pushed a few keys and "Voila!" I refreshed the page and all of that was cleared up and the options were available again.
What I'm guessing happened is someone ordered that neck with 6150 SS and requested no nut install. Whoever took the order probably filled all that out but probably had 36 things going on at one time and forgot to hit whatever key to make it sold and get it out of rotation. Honest mistake, and again, I have no hard feelings towards them over it.
With that said, it was their mistake that made it so I couldn't get the neck I ordered. One of the reasons I chose that particular neck was because it had nice figuring but didn't cost an arm and a leg. When I went scouting for another neck I was going to ask them if they'd give me a little leeway in the price and only charge me what that first one cost. Now, I wouldn't have tried to take advantage of that and grab that 971.00 beast that's in there and try to get them to sell it to me for 270 bucks, but I would have expected a 50 or 60 dollar bit of wiggle room. Fortunately it didn't have to lead to that, this new neck is actually 80 bucks cheaper than the first one. I like the look of this neck and I have to wonder why I didn't see it the first time around?!?
Oh well, hopefully he'll get my mail BEFORE someone nabs this one and all of this will be over.
