Anyone have experience with the DiMarzio PAF Masters? There is a good Paul Gilbert video on their website where they sound amazing, not sure how much of that is the player versus the pickup.
Paul Gilbert is probably my favorite player but his tones have always been just nominal to me. Didn’t care much for his single coil/Fireman tone. Those PAF Masters sound better in a mix than they do on their own. Pickups are pretty basic and within types, their differences are subtle. There aren’t any really bad pickups. People just sometimes make them sound that way.
