:dontknow:I've wanted to do a six string version of the 12 string gumby headstock. Does anyone know if there is enough wood on a paddle to do headstock this way? I have had a paddle head so I should know..  :icon_scratch: I could not find the paddle head dimensions on site.

I think I could eek one out but need to be sure.

Eek is right, just used wrongly.

Coming up with a nice looking 12 string headstock is always a challenge. But Fender should have at least tried.

Haha! Yeah, I'm sure it's a matter of taste. I like it though for some strange reason. Here are some from Harvester Guitars. Cool guy BTW.

The turquoise blue! that's it' - the fender XII headstock reminds me of a smurf hat!

The headstock rocks!!  Whydoncha just ask W to not drill the tuner holes?

I am considering it. I need to do a slightly scaled down version and see which I like best first. My original idea was a shorter version but I do think the full size with six strings looks great.

To me it reminds me of an apple jack hat. SRV wore one that was really hangin down on one side. Very cool.

The W version is about an inch shorter than the original anyway.

Really?! That's great news. That may be just about perfect. Mayfly, can you measure yours from nut to tip of headstock so I can do a mockup please?

@ 8.75 that's only 1.75 longer than a strat. Cool! Won't be long now until ordering. Now to pick an offset shape.....

Is it called Trojan because there is a surprise hiding inside? :icon_scratch:

I'm afraid the bear reference is lost on me as well.

Well, here's a tenuous line of reasoning -

The Villager headstock resembles a flaccid member; put a Trojan on the end!

Derail:

The USC Trojans are archrivals of the UCLA Bruins.  Put a picture of a Bruin on there, not some stupid Trojan!

No - brain fart. I wish I could blame it on meds - but I'm just loopy from being sick. I saw Trevor's post and got it in my head that he was the one looking for the headstock.

Since  he's from Ottawa, I just guessed. Not foolproof - my teams (as much as I do care about sports) have little to do with my geographic location.

It's not a Trojan, it's a Senator. Because it looks like a hockey stick

back on topic, as near as I can tell W only makes two offset bodies compatible with 25.5" scale. Jazzmaster and Musiclander. I seem to recall that a Musiclander is a strat with chunks knocked off, but ALL of the pictures at W's site make it look like it has an offset, though much less than the Jazzmaster/*stangs.  What'd be really cool is a 7/8 scale (* or whatever appropriate scale factor) J-bass with a guitar neck pocket. I remember I looked into it once - the J-bass isn't as much bigger than a strat as you might think, even though it seems like it.
