What value capacitor would be best to use in a standard 1 vol, 1 tone P bass setup. I have 250k pots and a selection of .01uf, .022uf and .047uf K40Y-9 PIO capacitiors. This is not an area I understand to well.

It's personal preference, there is no "best." The only way to know what you like is to experiment.

0.047uF is the standard for most high impedance pickups. Higher values will give you a lower frequency cutoff, and lower values will give you a high frequency cutoff.

"best" wasnt really the word i was after, just after suggestions, I have all 3 capacitors so can try them all, but will use .047 as the starting point. thanks for your reply. the pickup is a SD Quarter pounder
