Not sure what to make of this from G/Parts Suppliers  :tard:

I ordered on the 2nd may a heap of stuff, finally on the 11th got a tracking # for it …. thats ok it's on it's way, can see that.

Then ordered (what I forgot in the 1st order  :toothy11: ) a 2nd smaller order on the 12th may, got tracking # the very next day. It's on it's way too.

Now here's the weird bit.  :icon_scratch:
Just got another tracking # (different) and confirmation of the 1st large order and it to is on it's way too.

I checked my P-P account and there is only the two payments for 1st and 2nd order.
But … I now have 3 tracking # parcels on there way at different locations on rout here ….. WTF  :icon_scratch:

Mistake or Bonus  :dontknow:  will have to wait and see.

This happened to anyone before ?

A couple months ago I ordered a 5/16"-14 bottoming tap from a vendor I hadn't done business with before. Took about 10 days to get it, from an area where I normally get things from within in 2 days. Open the package, and it's a pile of 100% carbide 1/16" twist drills, aircraft drills, and drill blanks. WTF? So, I called 'em up and wondered aloud about my tap, and how whoever was waiting on what I did get was going to be disappointed. They were extremely apologetic, overnighted the right part, and said I could keep the stuff I got. Worked out well, as the stuff I got is stuff I'd use, other than the blanks.

A while back I got halfway through ordering an amp and cab online, then changed my mind before the point of entering payment details.

They sent it anyway  :evil4:

Thats really funny  :icon_thumright:  and Cagey's too

Ok it has happened to me before …..

I bought a new whipper snipper and a chipper shredder a few years ago, total was $1,690.00
Usually like paying in cash, but didn't have enough on me.
So I payed with my card over the counter.
When I finally received my statement from the bank, they only charged me $1.69  :icon_biggrin:
The owner of the shop punched in the numbers wrong.  :tard:

I still shop there  :icon_biggrin:  for my work and even do that blokes lawns etc now.  :laughing7:

Nothing was ever mentioned by him and certainly NOT by me either.  :evil4:

anyone else half-ordering amps and cabs like crazy right now?  :toothy12:

A few years back while restoring a 1968 Corvette I ordered complete front and rear suspensions from very good company.  I wanted the rotors to be rivetted on like the originals were.  They accidently sent me them as seperate components (I don't have a rivetter either).  So I called and they sent me replacements and told me to keep what I had.  These are 100's of dollars.  I like this kind of customer service.  If they make a mistake, they make it right.

On a similar note. I have a shower with 6 nozzles from Kohler.  On started to leak and they have a life time guarentee.  When I called and told them one was leaking they sent me six replacements for free.  Again good service.

Hehe! Sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? <grin>

I remember Newegg had mistakenly listed Windows XP for $19.95 back when that was a current OS. Me and a buddy of mine ordered about 20 copies of it (we were building a lotta computers back then), but they caught it and all we got was "sorry".

It's been a long time since I ordered anything from Musician's Fiend, but I got to the point that I almost expected some weird and oddball thing. I mean like, a mike boom when I ordered a couple sets of strings, a $60 custom strap thrown in a box with guitar stands.... I got the distinct impression that the packers at MF really hated their jobs and they were trying to empty the warehouse as quickly as possible.

Now about this half-ordered amp trick.... :evil4:

Yup.  It's happened.  And I'm sure I've accidentally fired off tracking notices to customers when testing system upgrades here at work.  It could be a simple mistake *and* bonus....

I've had a few experiences similar, but not exactly like the ones already described.

I used to buy a certain hard cider at Safeway that was sold in 4 packs. They had it scanned into their computers wrong, so it rang up as a single bottle.  Since I was working my first low paying job after finishing school I just took the "discount" for nearly a year.  I always bought extra food items to pad the bill upward, and always engaged the cashier in conversation so they wouldnt notice.  One day a cashier did notice, charged me the real price and wrote up a ticket for them to fix the error.  It still took maybe 6 more months before they corrected it in the system.

I wear a lot of clothing from LL Bean who offers a lifetime guarantee for everything they sell.  My brother went to school in Maine, and the joke was that all kids in Maine get a complete set of clothes from Bean when they enter first grade, then just exchange the clothes each year as they grow.  Its only partially a joke, one of my brother's room mates was wearing a pair of sun glasses from Bean, and they flew off his head and smashed on the highway when he stuck his head outside the window.  He brought the empty glasses case into Bean, explained what happened and they gave him a new pair of sunglasses.

I had a fancy Bean winter jacket that consists of an inner fleece jacket and an outer Gore Tex parka that zip together.  The fleece ripped in the pocket.  When I was in Maine on business I went to the Bean headquarters (open 24 hours a day!) and explained the problem.  I unzipped the fleece to give to the clerk to exchange, but she insisted on giving me a new outer parka too because she didn't want me to wear a new fleece with an old parka, even though there was nothing wrong with the original parka (except maybe 5 years of wear).  Great customer service.

The somewhat eerie lesson behind all this is that the actual value of most of the stuff we consume is really tiny - it's cheaper for a concern to give away free stuff than it is for them to have a "bad" reputation, and for people to go elsewhere.  There are giant factory towns all over China, India, Indonesia and Korea packed full of ex-farming peasants who now make weird doodads for us to consume. And the "value" of it at full retail price reflects the steps in between the factory to us, not so much the actual cost.

When you look at a $30 pickup and a $300 pickup, what do you see?  :icon_jokercolor:

I think it's the cost that's tiny. The value is much higher, which is how they're able to charge what they do for it, or give it away if they need to.

Not a bonus or a mistake !!

Got the 1st package and have worked it all out  :toothy11:

In the 1st order, something was 'out of stock'  :dontknow:  Pups that didn't show 'out of stock' on there site.
Thats what the 3rd parcel / tracking #  is

Never happened before, so didn't even think of that  :tard:

:icon_scratch:  Now wheres that site that gives away amps and cabs  :evil4:

I had the opposite problem from a CD shop. They ended up charging THE DAY'S TOTAL SALES to my card. When I got my card, I obviously called them. They knew immediately who I was and why I called. The odd thing was that they fixed their error within days, but it took a dog's age for the CC company to take it off my account.
