I've been wet sanding the clear coat on my Tele a lot to get out the orange peel. Here's some of it near the pickup route where the light is shining. It's deeper in other areas.
Okay, but since I do have a spot where I burned through I might as well spray the whole thing, right? I have to let it cure for another two weeks anyhow so more coats would be even better, right?
No, more coats are not necessarily better; shoot the burn through with about 4 coats and then after you have done that shoot the whole thing with one full wet coat. You will then have to let it set for a couple of more weeks to cure.
