Shimmer is a generic dictionary word, and wouldn't be protected under the patent and trademark office. It could be protected as a domain name, under certain circumstances... :icon_biggrin:

Aw, come on! You ain't that young! But, maybe you don't remember the Chevy Chase/Gilda Radner skit on SNL where they're arguing over whether something is a dessert topping or a floor wax? Turns out the product was "Shimmer!", and it was both. This was back 100 years ago when SNL was actually funny, and they used to do parody commercials.

So, no it's not really trademarked. I was making a funny. Although, with today's super-loose USPTO policies and practices, you could probably trademark it anyway regardless of its origins or previous uses.
