I was told my bass body would probably be until August before it arrived and i was starting to worry I'd have no time to assemble, let alone play it before I moved. Both body and neck just came today!!!!

and of course, my girlfriend is out of town with the only camera i might use to take pictures.

but it is f'in GORGEOUS. I definitely feel like it's a shame I got it top-routed. though really, i could get a very small cover for the control cavity and it would look great. Pictures this weekend - it might already be constructed by then.

Hi dNA

Same here. I was expecting 5-6 weeks, perhaps even more. Got it in less than 4 weeks. Took only around 30 hour in transit from Washington to Norway.  :icon_thumright:

that's so awesome. i am so glad they did that. i wasn't expecting this and i was having an awesome day already. Now its almost 2 AM and i'm still working on it. i realized i didn't order any of the electronic components, or the pickguard. not sure how i missed that... but I mounted the pickups onto the body, got the bridge on there, and i'm getting ready to put the mounting pins in on the hipshot tuners.
i'm def ordering the other parts overnight. this thing is not waiting

arne, what're you building?

Cell phone camera?

i didn't have a camera phone for years. i have one now, but I don't know how to get pictures off it.

Neck:
Slim taper P-bass
Canary back, indian rosewood board
6105 SS frets
white tusq nut
ultralite tuner ream

body:
standard p-bass, top route (though I almost wish i'd gone rear-routed now that i have it. the flame top is AWESOME)
alder body, unique choice flame maple top (had gone for quilted, but the piece i ordered ended up being warped and I liked the flame more than my other options)
tobacco burst, natural mask binding
gotoh 201 bridge rout
P/J pickup routes
7/8" side jack route
all the extra contours

hardware all chrome:
ultralites
hipshot vintage style bridge - bent plate brass stuff
Nordstrand P/J set
vintage pearl pickguard
vol/vol/tone control layout

it looks as pretty as it sounds. I got the tuning machines on there and screw in, the bridge, mounted the pickups. I didn't have the neck bolts of neck plate or any of the electronics yet. I would've strung it up at 3 in the morning last night if i'd had the parts! I gotta get back to work in a sec, but i'll see about getting pictures ASAP. the rest of my hardware won't arrive until middle of next week at the earliest.
