I didn't mean it like that, Cagey, I thought the smileys gave it away! I agree with you, the competition is extremely fierce this month and I love it, it's great to see so many beautiful guitars and basses. I had a major headache trying to pick one myself and I must say, I don't find my guitar to be the most beautiful among the bunch. It was just a joke I made.  :icon_thumright: I mean, if I don't win, it HAS to be because the pictures are too bad, no? <grin>

Ok, I guess it just didn't sound like that. I don't pay any attention to emoticons; I seem to have "emoticon blindness". If people can't be bothered to write what they want to say, I'm not going to work overtime to interpret their obscure cartoons. Being over 50, I'm more into Adult Swim than Sesame Street so chances are I'd misinterpret them anyway, which means they probably wouldn't be taken in the spirit they're presented.

Rats... oh well, I had a hard time not voting for Hachikid's bass myself.  Awesome build.  Congrats!

Congrats and welcome to the "WOTM" club. Drop me a PM and I'll teach you the secret handshake.

Don't listen to him, we kicked him out of our society for PMing outsiders the handshake! :blob7:

If you want the new, real handshake, PM me along with $20.

woah! awesome.  :glasses9: reppin for the 4 strings...it only took a bright orange, triple pickup'd, dual output, debut production bodied bass with a raw exotic neck to manage beating out the guitars, too! so...how'd you do that with an all black p+j Jazz Bass, Line6Man?.....lol.

Exotic necks alone aren't enough to win this contest.  (Y'all know I've tried in the past.)

It takes balls.  Hachikid's bass had 'em.  Congrats man!

if you think it looks like it has balls, you should hear this thing in person! no matter which pickup, or any combination of them, this thing redefines the term "growl" when being applied to a bass. I usually hate to hear it when applied to pretty much any instrument people like (Warwicks, bridge pickup on a jazz bass, etc), but there isn't another adjective that comes to mind. it's one of the hottest basses I've ever played, in terms of output...especially that X2N-7 in series...it freakin kills!

I have a clip of Vincent going through my Carvin X100B into my drummer's 2x15 cab. only the p-pickup is used, but you still get an idea.

when I get my LDS 4x10+6.5"/1x18 cab, I'll do a video review of the bass.

personally, if Vincent wasn't in this month competition, I would have had a hard time choosing between smjenkins', Orphee's, and blackdog's entry...that flame maple, quilted maple, and flame maple + metal upper horn metal cover all look stellar!

I have my secrets.

(Sorry, couldn't resist that one. :laughing7:)

I don't know what you're bragging about, you had to have all that stuff to win, all I had to do was waltz on in with a plain black Jazz bass to beat all the guitars. :toothy12:

I have never entered Da' Bird, so I might as well throw her in the race.
Introducing ROC...

One piece mahogany body with flame maple cap.  Canary neck with Ziricote Fingerboard.
Lollar P-90's neck and bridge, Lollar Firebird middle.
Callaham ABR-1 bridge, Custom pickguard & Truss rod cover, Steinberger gearless tuners

You have my two favorite guitars on this forum. Between this and Valentina i'm seriously reconsidering why i play a strat.
