Well here is the body and the first one to be shown broadly to the best of my knowledge...

Just had access to my smartphone for photos today...

The body itself unfinished alder.

What are your plans for finishing?

To be honest, at the moment I am a little undecided. I am away for work so no tools etc nearby and now it is getting closer to winter that doesn't help.

I think it needs a solid color of some type, possibly red. In the meantime, I may get hold of some Z Poxy to use as a grain filler/sealer while I decide the final course of action.

That doesn't look right.  Too much room left behind the rear screws.  Looks like the Schaller Floyd rout, actually.

I just checked the order it states NFT rout. It could be that the bridge has all the saddles in a straight line out of the box and once the low E is intonated it would take up a fair bit of that room but the recess does seem a little long in the photo due to that.

The shape of the rout is different to that of the Schaller rout. But it does look like a longer recess at the back than the prototype I saw but this I think would be to accommodate intonation variances.

The saddles on the bridge in this photo are all pushed to their forward-most position. Once the thing is strung up and intonated it won't look so weird.

Also, when comparing this to a Guthrie Govan sig model, keep in mind that Charvel or Suhr or whoever only had to accommodate a very finite set of components. As a result, their routs, cavities, and so forth only need to fit the ranges the parts on their finished guitar would require.

When you aren't making the complete guitar, you don't get that luxury. You don't know if the customer is going to end up using a 25-1/2" neck, or a Gibson or Baritone Scale conversion neck, or whatever. You have to make your routs and cavities large enough to accommodate every possible extreme adjustment of all the components.

I imagine it will be perfect. As stated, when you start to account for intonation, the screws can protrude pretty far back:

The neck is in...

Ebony on Q-Sawn Maple. Modern construction standard thin LSR prep.

A really nice piece of ebony and some flame on the maple. Seems sort of in between Q-Sawn and rift but either way a nice neck out of the showcase.

Frets are SS6100 with no bevel as requested.

Looks like a good one. Are you going to put a tint in the finish or leave it clear?

I will use tru-oil on the neck shaft so other than any hue that creates it will be clear.

Thanks, I was curious. It should look good, that's a fine piece of wood in that one.

No worries, that might be the first job I get done. To be honest I have taken it out of the box a couple of times just to take a look at it.
