I got this EVH Wolfgang from a scratch and dent.  I got for it for less than 1/4 of MSRP.  The Cases are going to $150 shipped on ebay.

This has the stainless vintage style frets and graphite truss rod.  Flat top.  The new ones have a carved top but do away with case and SS frets.

The only scratches I can see are around the pickups.  See photos.  It also looks like the red dye from the case stained the finish a bit on the back.  I could not capture it on a photo.  It will likely buff off.

The tone pot is a bit stiff but functions properly.  I never move it anyhow.  And the neck pickup was mounted so high the strings hit it fretting anything beyond the 7th fret.  A few turns of the mounting screws and its perfect.

This thing REALLY plays nice.  The 1 5/8 nut and oiled neck play incredibly fast.

this is where you can see the mark on the finish

anyone know about maintenance of an "oiled" neck?  I have NEVER had a maple fretboard or a so called oiled maple neck.  Any tip for cleaning and maintenance?

Thank you

I'm assuming the Wolfgang has a Tru oil finish similar to the Musicmans.

So this may help you.

Birchwood Casey Tru Oil products are usually best sourced from a gun supplier.

And also a method I used http://unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=22445.msg335422#msg335422

The less product you use the more unfinished the feel will be.

Nice score, is it a Peavey or a Fender? I played some of the early Peavey's and they were crap compared to my EVH EBMM sig I had. But the later Fender made ones were much better and I do agree they feel very short compared to other 25.5 scale guitars... :icon_thumright:

Its the fender.  I did not like the Peavey either.  The EMBB were nice if you got the sigs.  The others ($399 models) were crap too.

Yip, my brother has one of the OP models and it's total crap. The neck is the only good thing on that guitar..

my son has one of the new EVH STANDARD WOLFGANG.  A new model with a lam top and forearm contour.  Hardware to not as high end as the other EVH models but at $500 out the door it is a nice playing guitar.

The EVH line is a good product.  I hope it does well.  Even though I doubt Eddie needs the $$
