I have been wanted to do this for a while.  This is a Precision Les Paul kit
http://precisionguitarkits.com/guitars/les-paul-jr-double-cut-mahogany/

I am building a "tribute" to the Double Cut flat top style model.  I wanted a set neck so this company was a nice option.

Its gonna have a dogear P-90 and aged gold hardware and frets.  The P-90 us from Wolfetone and I even got some vintage BB caps for the wiring.

This is my 1st burst.  I am very happy with the progress so far.  The finish was inspired by Tonar and his great burst style teles!!

Love it! Keep the pics coming. Please review the workmanship quality with this company and let us know how well the neck goes together. This could be an awesome summer project for me next year.

This is my second from them. The kits are very nice.  Good wood and fret work too.  I will say the kit comes standard with a 50' s style baseball neck.  Very thick.  Its a little extra to a simmer profile neck like I got.

Wow man this looks great! Nice job!

Edit: P.S. I am so jealous of you DC collection. I really need to get one of these...

How flexible are they with these kind of changes? I've been eyeing off their Les Paul kits for a while now but would like the neck to match my Warmoth strat's 59 roundback profile.

I seem to remember you saying that they did stainless steel frets for you too on your first build. Were you able to specify what size you wanted too?

Looking forward to more pics ... that burst is lookin' sweeeeeet  :icon_thumright:

They were ok with most changes.  Of course you are going to pay for it.  Since they do run large batches, one offs take time.

I did buy stainless frets to my desired dimensions and have it shipped to them for.install.  they also saved the leftover for future builds.

I just checked the company out (I guess I missed the link the first time around) and dang those are some good looking kits! Deffinately not the crap some places put out. I might have to get one of those LP Jr SC.

Thanks, good to know.

man that is awesome! love the burst! I was curious about Precision's kits, how is the quality of the fretwork on the neck? Also, if you don't mind me asking, how did you glue the neck in? I've heard conflicting things about using Tite-Bond etc. (I've only ever built bolt-on W stuff) I'm seriously considering one of these kits!

That's looks awesome so far.  Can't wait to see it finished.

Like everyone else though, I'm totally intrigued by the company.  $300-ish is a hell of a deal for a body/neck combo.

Just lightly cover the contact surfaces with titebond and clamp.  The tolerances are tight and line up well.  I always do a dry fit first.  I like to use two good clamps to hold it tight.  I let it sit 24 hours before handling.
