It figures, after I say that most stock guitars don't appeal to me, that I come across one that induces major GAS.

It's moments like these I'm especially glad to be left-handed; there's simply no point in me buying this guitar, no matter how slick it is, because it would be totally useless. My wallet breathes a sigh of relief.

Well - besides from the lefty-problem the guitar is very, very heavy. I had one and really loved it - especially the pickups( which I wish were sold separately). But I eventually sold it because of the weight-problem.

Yeah, she's a fatty, and I'm not a fan of triple-humbucker guitars. I like a space in the middle where my less than military precision picking doesn't cause me to tap the pup cover.

But I seem to be a real sucker for the black headstock and mirrored pickguard.

Sounds an awful lot like you've mastered military precision to me - speaking as a former enlisted soldier.  Lots of problems of precision have been solved by simply softening up an entire grid square with artillery fire.  Not that I condone that sort of thing.  But as a musical aesthetic, there's sometimes a lot to be said for just beating on the guitar with all you have.

Anyway.... how's that for topic drift?

To be honest I just lowered the middle pickup so it was flush with the pick guard. I only used the bridge and neck position anyway. Well - really only the bridge position  :guitarplayer2:

Maybe one day I'll make a light weight Warmoth-version of that.  :cool01:

Everybody should own a Marshall stack at least once. It's a rite of passage. It's like owning a Harley. The things are unique. You have no reference point until you've been there and done that, and have no right to talk about them otherwise. You may fall in love and marry up for better or worse, or you may move on to greener pastures. But, until you've been there...

I want a Warmoth version, so I'm not sure if it counts, but the Eric Johnson Strat with neck binding is awesome

I could totally see myself turning on all of the bottom row of mini toggles whilst hitting the 'engage' stomp.

Maybe if you were careful. It's more likely you'd just destroy them. Those mini-toggles aren't exactly sturdy parts. I know it wouldn't take me long, and I'm pretty easy on gear.

I think you drew the wrong conclusion from your analogy. More than two ain't natural.
