Hi,

Warmoth no longer offers double binding on flat top teles??

And no more LP style pickup selectors for teles?

I was looking forward to make a John 5 bigsby clone...

anyone else tried ?

Don't know about the double binding, but you'll need to custom order LP style controls for a Tele body and there is an upcharge for that.

Don't think that's true - you can add it in the body builder and it still shows up the body options section. Where did you get the idea it's not available?

i tried the builder page, and the only thing i get is top binding.. and the back binding option is not available

i've noticed a lot of strange things can't be done with the body builder page. i had a hard time adding a strat hardtail bridge to a body (don't remember what it was, but NOT a carved top) and some other random stuff. my biggest question though... there are a TON more unique wood choices in the body and neck builder page that you can't see otherwise. where would i go on warmoths site to view all of these options? if you select a body and scroll to the bottom of it's page you can see a few, but there are way more in the builder screen. whats the point in ordering a custom top if you can't see it first?

I wouldn't get so caught up in the body / neck builders - if something doesn't come together that you want - call. Not all combinations or options are covered on the body builder. I did get a flat top tele to give me a double bind option on the body builder - did you possibly add something previously that doesn't allow Warmoth to double bind the body? Call Warmoth when in doubt.

I'd never use the body builder for anything. If you try to have binding you can only get the back of the body done in the same color as the top. WHY in the world would that be the only choice? I assume they're going to fix that on the new versions they're working on.

I think those online builders are useless for ordering, sorry guys but it seems like a labor saving gimmick to me, like self-checkout at the supermarket. Call them up - somebody knowledgeable and personable always answers right away, usually knows way more than you do about the topic, or can turn around and get the answer to the toughest question right away. I have always called them up for all of my orders, even showcase.

Doing a tele body, I chose white top binding, and cream back binding on the body builder.

You have to add a top binding before the back binding is shown as an option.

The builders are used quite a bit actually. Not a gimmick but rather a different way to buy. If you don't speak English and/or live in a completely opposite time zone, they are quite handy over trying to place a phone call. Always good to have options I say.
