Just got my custom neck from Doug at Soulmate Guitars on Friday.  Its for an upcoming Warmoth Soloist project which is at week 6 at warmoth.  So hopefully an email in the next couple of weeks and it should be on its way.  Either way, I have this lovely piece of work to caress and stare at for a few weeks.  I actually found Doug upon recommendations from people on this forum, so thanks very much to everyone.  I am beyond happy with how everything turned out.  Exactly how I had imagined things in my head.    I wanted to try a few things on this that are not offered by Warmoth (custom headstock, laminate construction, wood binding, black underlaminate as accent).  I wanted the binding and underlaminate to match up with my Soloist which has a quilt top/masked binding/black laminate stripe.  Can't wait to get the neck and body together.  Hopefully a match.

Here are the specs

Flame  curly maple with purpleheart and wenge laminates, bolt on neck to fit warmoth body  (traditional strat heel)
25.5”  scale, 1 11/16” nut width,22-frets
Reverse inline 6 headstock, Nut prep shelf for Floyd Rose locking nut,Jet Black Ebony Fretboard
NO fret board markers, Black side dot markers
Curly Maple Wood Binding with black underlaminate
16' straight neck radius, thin D profile

I know that you of all groups can appreciate some nice wood porn.  Enjoy

Dave

Very nice  :headbang:  great contrast  :blob7:

If you find it doesn't fit properly, you can send it my way  .......  :laughing7:

That's a very fine and attractive piece of work. Never going to see that anywhere else.

That is crazy awesome, Doug does some damn fine work... I have a custom neck he made for me, I love it..

That is one flippin' fine  :glasses9: piece of wood porn!!!  One of the best non-warmoth necks I have seen.
Doug really puts out some great work and would be the first person I would turn to if I needed a neck that Warmoth would not produce.
I hope you don't mind if I steal your design some day because it is really just too good to not use on a future build.
I love it and please post pics of the final build.  I am sure it will be one sweeeeet Soloist.

The lam necks are kind of a signature for Doug... :icon_thumright:

I would highly recommend for something Uber custom.. :laughing7:

I'm sure the guitar is gonna turn out great. /Jealous. :icon_thumright:

Where can I get hold of this Doug the neckmaster if I would like him to build me one in the future?

Beautiful neck!  +1 for Doug.  He built an Ibanez neck for me and I will definitely have him build another neck for me in the future.
