Can't wait! Really looking forward to playing it! I've had a standard thin, a fatback and a boatneck already. My favourite so far is the boatneck, but this COULD be perfect. (fingers crossed).

I very much like the 59 Roundback profile.  My other neck is SRV, and it's pretty good too, but only slightly less awesome to my hands.

Sounds very promising! Still waiting for it to arrive. I love the LSR nut too, best non locking nut for whammy bar use out there imo.

Wenge/Ebony, that's one of those combinations that you can't go wrong with, IMHO.

That sir, is an appropriate zombie killing tool. I have a similar neck in fatback, shortscale, and they leave the entire neighborhood alone.

Neck arrived, i fitted the sperzels and the LSR nut and slapped it on and set it up.

Best neck ever! (I always say that ha ha) - here's some pics

Very nice!  Where did you get the Warmoth decal for the headstock?
It's the one that comes in the box with all neck purchases. Also available for something like 2 bucks if you need more with an order.

Wait, I have a neck from Warmoth, and I didn't get a decal.  I have another one due on Monday, I hope there's one in that package.

Oh good grief.  I have seen that page before... the spendier ones say "metal decal, gold" and "metal decal, smoke chrome."  The word "metal" scared me off... and all this time they meant metalic?!?

:sad1:   :tard:

Gawd, I feel like such an idiot.  I seriously thought they were thin metal decals, which I wasn't interested in at all.  So now... what is the difference between the cheap decals and the more expensive ones, besides color?  How are they applied, and how well do they stick?

As it turns out, the cheap (Black) one will work well for one of my necks, but the other neck really will need a smoke chrome decal.  Damn, I wish this conversation would have happened for me about three or four days ago.

The metal ones they describe as metal are actually metal, not metallic. It's like a stamped, embossed piece - it has depth to it. You could never embed one unless you were finishing with poured lexan or something. But, they look good even on raw wood. There's no surrounding backing material; each letter is cut out individually and has its own adhesive. For example:

The only other ones are stickers, not decals, and are unsuitable for embedding in the finish. They're the ones that come free with the neck, and are only good for sticking on your bathroom mirror or antagonizing your cat's head something. I wouldn't put one on a neck, as the surrounding material can't be removed. It's like a decal, only thick and it uses a gum-based adhesive unlike a decal. Think clear bumper sticker. It looks terrible on a finished surface. I suspect they were originally ordered by mistake, but since they're custom, they couldn't return them so they started giving them away.
