.....proud hand grinder
Brilliant idea. What are the typical sizes of grub screws on saddles? I have a couple slightly proud grinders.I like to keep two kits one metric one SAE of stainless grub screws in various sizes/ lengths so I never have a proud hand grinder. Also, your playing is always so impeccably clean, and that makes me angry!! View attachment 67582
I believe metric is M3 4mm,6mm,8mm, my SAE set isn't right in front of me, so I can't recall that size. Amazon sells the sets for reasonable dough.Brilliant idea. What are the typical sizes of grub screws on saddles? I have a couple slightly proud grinders.
Also Large Marge!
“Special Guest” or “Free Beer”….And when they pulled the driver's body from the twisted, burning wreck....
I thought the 3-saddle was compensated (?).Btw. i'm prefering the saddles due to intonation, so i'm surprised this wasn't an issue...
You are right, these Gotoh saddles are compensated:I thought the 3-saddle was compensated (?).
I know that lots of people like the Gotoh In-Tune saddles, and I started off with them on a Tele that I built a few years ago where I wanted the three-barrel bridge…but I was never able to get them satisfactorily intonated. I ended up buying some compensated saddles from Callaham, which worked like a charm. The Gotoh saddles obviously work for lots of people, but if you want another option, check out the Callaham options. You are right, these Gotoh saddles are compensated:
Built-in compensation
Unique grooves molded into these saddles move each string's point of contact for more exact intonation than traditional barrel saddles.
I have the Gotoh saddles for the Tele project that I haven't completed yet. I hope they're gonna intonate good. If not, it's good to know that I can switch to Callaham.I know that lots of people like the Gotoh In-Tune saddles, and I started off with them on a Tele that I built a few years ago where I wanted the three-barrel bridge…but I was never able to get them satisfactorily intonated.
