New video: I Built This Guitar to Play One Song! (Part One)

Too late.  I measured in thou.  Let me know if you need more, but I think it's fully described.  I'll post some pics ina bit

Some notes:
1 - the part is plated, which probably contributes to some not-quite-standard measurements, like 0.253" for the width (seems pretty close to 1/4" don't it?)
2 - the part is highly polished and all sharp edges are rounded over.  This is not captured in the drawing.
3 - string holes are relieved on both sides.  again not captured on drawing.
4 - the two screws appear to be 4-40.

Update!
5 - the scale on the drawing should be 2:1, not 2:11!! (&$#(&^)  :tard:
That's perfect, and Imperial is measurements i prefer, because well....That's what we use here. But as i said Mayfly, perfect.... :icon_thumright:

Hey Mayfly:  I was wondering...  All the Fender XII's I've seen have the string retainer between the nut and the first set of tuners.  Is there a benefit having it after the first set as you have done?  Thanks.

Seems like there is a much sharper break angle coming off the B and A strings.

Now that's a proper drawing!.....You should have seen some of the stuff I had to work off of back when I was machining. A lot of times the drawing's looked like they should have had Public School #39 1st. Grade Class printed at the top.  :headbang:
Sometimes all I get is a napkin covered in cake crumbs and tears, that someone spilled their drink on...

Outstanding!

On another note, I've searched high and low for a case for this thing. I won't be flying with it....it doesn't need to be an indistructo/nuclear level case. I just need something to get from car to bar.

I looked at all the used and off-the-shelf options, and they are all a compromise. Slightly too narrow, or rare as hen's teeth/unobtanium. I contacted several custom case places, and they all wanted from $450 to $700 for a custom case.

Then I found this: ATA Guitar Cases with Uncut Foam Layers, 3 Sizes (roadcases.com)

The "Large" guitar case size was again just barely wide enough. I reached out to them, and they said they would be happy to make it a few inches wider for the exact same price. Perfect! Still expensive, but this is the cheapest/best solution I have found for true-to-fit double neck case.

Plan to order tonight, unless somebody stops me.

Ha! That describes the first draft of most of my lyrics. Acceptable for an artist, I reckon, but I thought engineers had it more together than that.  :icon_jokercolor:

These are the people designing my bridges?  :glasses9:

This one might work, and it's only 140 bones...

I ordered a keyboard case from Road Cases down in Commack ... fit great, no problems.

From Shlong and McQuade??  They don't have the best rep up here in the Canadas, eh?  Well, I guess they are ok for stuff like that.  :)
