Well, boys and girls, it's finally here: one of the first Scartozi bridges to make it into the wild...

Closer view of millwork. Nicely relieved.

With Graphtech String Savers installed

Its planned use

It's not obvious from the picture, but that's a carved top Tele body and the bridge still sits flush all the way across.

For those of you who haven't been following along in other threads, the fantastic millwork you see here was done by "Dangerous" Doug at his secret headquarters deepinhearta Texas. A fine job, as usual.

Can't wait to see it all come together :icon_thumright:

Did you use a flash while taking pics of the bridge? I really like the way the hardtail version looks with the saddles installed. TIP: Try to make the best educated guess as to where intonation for each string will be...adjust the saddle height screws down, then make the adjustments. If you need to move them 1/8" or more and they are under string tension you will make two scratch marks from the saddle height screws.....I know from experience

COOL  :toothy10:

My 2 are still in the hands of the master  :icon_biggrin:
Am I the 1st Aussie to get some  :icon_scratch:

Mines going on a Purple Flame Strat,
Plus ... might even put it on this  :icon_biggrin:  .. If all looks OK.

Some shots used a flash, some didn't. The flashed ones are usually pretty harsh. I try not to use a flash because in general I'm not really set up for it with the point 'n' shoot and the results are invariably disappointing.

We actually have a diffusing light booth with flood fills, etc. and a pro-grade camera, but it's too much of a pain in the ass to set up for one-offs. Plus, it's my roommate's stuff and when I set her a task like this she tends to make a career out of it. I just wanted some illustration, not a National Geographic entry <grin>

I appreciate the heads-up on the saddle height adjustment screw movement causing scratches. I probably would have gotten caught on that.

Wish I'd seen these earlier. But, the bridge has already gone off to the anodizer and that's gonna be a sorta one-time favor where I'm piggy-backing on an existing run unless I can get into some quantity work to justify my own runs.

A bit of help on the adjustment screws. you could take them and polish up the ends a bit, and that would help to keep them from digging in so much.

That's a good idea. I do have a generous pile of 3M polishing papers around here.

I also used the Graphtech saddles, and I think maybe they tumble their set screws as they don't feel as rough as some I've used. Based on what they charge for the little rascals they can certainly afford to add that step to the process.

Quick and dirty fix for when you need more light but regular camera flash is too harsh: stick a handkerchief, or failing that a couple of tissues, over the flash itself. Instant bargain basement flash diffuser.

That's a good idea, and I've done that sort of thing in the past with other cameras/flashes, but this is a modern point 'n' shoot (Canon Powershot A570/IS) so there isn't a whole lot of room to be playing those sorts of games. I may try just putting a thickness or two of scotch tape over the flash lens and see if that helps.

Nice job all around boys! Kudo's to Doug and Scartozi.

I think that little baby would be a perfect candidate for some black anodizing!
