new Regal build

Looks great!

You can take a piece of stripped wire and loop/twist on end and solder the straight end into the switch lug.  Solder your leads around the ring.  Or you can use a pointy tool to slightly open up the lug a bit.

whose bright idea was it to try and get 2 wire tips into the smallest hole on a 6-pin, push-pull pot?

What a beautiful instrument!
I have a question about the inserts for the neck bolts: why did you feel they were necessary? Have you had bad experiences without them?

Thank you for the kind words.

This is the first time that I am using neck inserts, but with a 7lb body, I wanted to make sure that the neck was as solidly connected to the body as possible.  I can say that the connection feels solid, so I am sure that is was worth it.

If you have any technical questions about neck inserts, Cagey is probably the one to speak to as he has put (I would guess) hundreds of them in necks.

Broke it out for Church practice on Friday...definitely no issue with neck dive.  Tone-wise it is exactly what I was looking for.  Have one fret that needs a little leveling on the high E side when I get into the higher frets, I can hear it making some slight contact, so I'll take it to my local shop and use their tools, but otherwise I love it.  Completed pictures soon to come.

Came out great. I definitely like the clean look with that finish.  :icon_thumright:

Thanks guys.  She is a blast to play as well. Definitely get a workout with that solid body, will help with the exercise part of my diet.

I can see it now.."Wife: Honey lets go for a walk.....Me: Nah, I'll just play my Regal for an hour, I'm good."
