New Pictures

I don't think anyone is trying snarf anything with anyone.  I think we have read the posts, and have an understanding of what happened.  There hasn't been any name calling, and we all feel for the guy.  Disagreement shouldn't be taken for not understanding or not getting it.  Whether the blemish is natural or not, reported in the description or not is irrelevent to me because he took delivery of it (acknowledging the flaw) knowing their return policy.  This thread might be different on the Strat end if it had been returned for a replacement or full refund.  Instead of a flawed Strat top in a pic, we'd see a pristine one with a little anecdote of how the project was delayed a few weeks.

A replacement?  What grade top do you think that is?  I did look in the showcase back when I thought about sending it it back, and I didn't see anything close to what I wanted.  I would have paid a considerable amount more than what paid for that showcase body to have a comparable body custom made.

Please just live with your choice to keep it.

LOL... I am.  Well, the new Deluxe is feeling and playing very nicely.  I still do not have the electronics in it yet, but with the hardtail bridge, stainless steel frets, and TUSQ nut, this guitar truly rings out acoustically.  Anyone want a tobacco burst Strat?   :)

.....I can't see why there's still people a-bickering when someone just used the word "snarf"

I'm a dog man so Super Turbo Deluxe Custom and I willl never get along fundamentally  :)

A cat's attitude is feed me when I want, pet me when I want, and maybe I'll crap in that box over there.  :)

Now thats funny.  Funny because my comes over... watches Star Trek with me, takes a shower with me in the mornin', and waits for me at the door when I get home at night.  None of this wimpy girly cat stuff for him.

FWIW I was not attempting to demonize the guy, if that's how it sounded please accept this as a retraction/re-statement.

My broader point was that it is quite probable that the only reason such an otherwise fine looking body made it into the showcase was due to the presence of those imperfections.  In which case, if the owner is ok. with the marks, then he should actually be darn happy over his fortunate score because without those marks that body probably would have cost a pretty penny more than it did and wouldn't even have made the showcase.

Whether those imperfections are natural or were man inflicted really is immaterial.  They are there now.  Although if I had to guess I'd say they were not noticed until late in the the finishing process.  Had they been evident earlier then any finisher worth his wages should have been able to make them all but invisible.

That's what I'm saying. All is right in the world now because of that word.

Thundercats came to mind when I saw the word "Snarf."  I still had to look it up in the urban dictionary.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=snarf

I was hoping it had nothing to do with definitions #6 and #7.
