Here are some clearer pictures of 2 of 3 bodies I have received from Warmoth (note, both were bought from the showcase).  For complete details see http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=10219.0.  Does anyone truly believe I am being picky?

How many threads does this require? I'm bumming for ya, man, seriously, but if things are that bad for you just send them back and ask for a full refund.

But let me add, I probably wouldn't be too thrilled about that either. The 2 spots on the first one probably wouldn't bother me much but the chipped paint would.

I'm the opposite - the first one would bug me, the second wouldn't so much.

First, how may treads does this require?  Well, people don't really read everything.  Second, I know that you didn't read read my posts because you would have known that I had sent the Deluxe body back.

The difference between a $7000 hand-made Italian suit and a $1700 machine-made Brooks Brothers suit is that the hand-made Italian usually will look rumpled, and won't be quite as statuesque.  Also, the $7000 hand-made Italian suit will have a few flaws, here and there.

I knew you sent one of them back and are still waiting for them to send you a new one.

I've been following along

Yes you are being (extremely) picky, the top is just two slightly darker spots. I'll bet you're the only one who's ever noticed them. The BIGGEST paint chip out of the neck pocket is the size of one of the turtle's guitar's tuning pegs!
It's clear that your expectations for finishing are higher than Warmoth can do, so it seems like you should definitely buy elsewhere. Best of luck.

Have you lost your mind?  Seriously?  I feel like I am talking to a wall.

You seem to expect us to feel sorry for you. Man, it sucks you had a bad experience - but that's what refunds are for.

You asked if we thought you were being picky. I think you are being picky. Not sure how much more we can argue about it, or what you hope to accomplish here. Best of luck to you!  :dontknow:

the 2 dark spots would have bothered me more, but i think it may be a dark spot in the wood (hard to tell from the picture and not seeing it in my hands though). the paint chips would never be seen with the neck on (on the top) and the chips on the side are on the bottom of the guitar, would never see it. i definitely think it's being a little overly picky, but you paid for the pieces so you've paid for that right.

The two spots on your maple top look pretty cool to me.
Your white body looks like somebody damaged it when the put a neck in it. i would send that one back or get a discount.

Like I said before, put em together and play the shite out of em,

You don't have kids do you? If you don't, you best start lowering lifes expectations now, If you do..........well, I hope they are fine. God help em if one of em gets a "B" in school.

Hows this for a wall?

we've all heard ya, loud, and all too clear, are you wanting us to get our pitch forks and march on Warmoth?

The strat, no, that might annoy me too. The deluxe, yes. Once the neck was on there, I would never ever notice.

1.) The "chipping" around the neck pocket looks somewhat the normal result of masking the neck pocket off and then removing the tape. Might have the same condition on some of the finished bodies I bought from Warmoth, but never took a magnifying glass to one to check. Near as I can tell once the neck was installed you wouldn't be able to see it. If Warmoth DIDN'T mask the neck pocket off and you had to sand back finish to get the neck to install properly you'd probably be bitching louder/worse. You already returned that one, so get over it. Finish your bodies yourself or buy somewhere else if you don't like how Warmoth does it.
2.) I can't honestly tell from the pics if the 2 spots on the other body are finishing flaws or little dark spots/lines that sometimes occur in regular or figured maple. If you are distressed by them, return the body and get another or your money back.

I have to tell you - I would never worry about those chips/spots.

Too Picky?  Well, you seem to be much more pickier than me.

It does seem that Warmoth cannot do what you expect of them.  However, if Warmoth can't do it - I doubt any one else can.
