New Neck Wood...

Check these out. Not many of these in the wild:

They are a limited run of necks made of Light Rosewood, a wood that is new to Warmoth. I am really digging the warm, pinkish color. I've held them and they are very tight-grained, with a smooth feel and heft similar to Pau Ferro or Bloodwood. If you are an "unfinished neck" player these are the bee's knees.

Incidentally, is that something that can be custom ordered? I've really developed an aversion to inlays.

Not sure what the availability of this wood is for special orders. You'll have to fire off an email...

The one in the center photo above is the only one I saw w/ that type of grain pattern. The bottom picture is back view of that same neck.

The rest of the necks from this run are more straight-grained like the top photo.

Regarding your aversion to inlays: there is a lotion for that.

Wow! Really nice! I really like the top one. And this is nice timing since I'm just about to hit the builder for my next neck. What are Light Rosewood's sound characteristics? You mention Pao Ferro for feel; similar for sound?
