New J-Bass : blue dyed quilted maple on alder and ziricote on flame maple

No way man ! I love it like this !
Moreover, customs and taxes already cost me 289€...This is a LOT (more than 25% of the pieces price !)
I won't send it anywhere else !

And actually, I was afraid of any defaults in the parcel, I couldn't even imagine send it back to Warmoth, etc, etc...It could commit suicide !!!  :laughing7:

One my favorite sayings:

"If you think health care is expensive now, wait until it's free."

haha. that's pretty good.

but in regards to the bass: sounds like a sweet plan w/ the Delanos.
I say this to everyone, and so far nobody's actually reciprocated - I demand clips!

Sorry, but it appears as though "Blue" is missing a Tone knob! You should fix that up, before somebody sees him and he becomes embarrassed!

Blue's also missing his inlays and humbucker pole pieces. :icon_biggrin:

Inlays and pole pieces on "Blue" are like curb feelers and white wall tires on a Ferrari. They just don't belong.  :laughing7:

Clips ! Of course !

Since it's going to be passive/active (+ 3 positions switch for bridge pickup : split/serial/aprallel) , which one first ?

Demo'ing all of them is always cool. But hearing it in the context of a mixed track is great too.
I just do it to encourage people to record more and to stimulate my brain. Whatever works for you. :)

I can't get over how jealous I am of this bass body.  It's 24 hours in and I'm still totally green with envy.

Just buy this instead. Ignore the overly reflective photograph, it's beautiful.

That looks like the same body that I was one click away from buying when I ordered the Bass VI.  I wish I had, haha.

Must... not... call Warmoth...

I love the bass, but there is no excuse for that table.

He is from Wallonia, that's acceptable over there :)

LOL, you're gonna hurt my girlfriend, she's proud of that tablecloth ! LOOOL, just kidding...I've already ruined it while preparing my home-made PASTIS, a few alcohol 90° drops fell on it and the ink disappeared...LOL

Here's another view of the body that shows off better I think (no tablecloth...) and if you look carefully, above the neck pickup there're very light white circles, like it wasn't well finished, this is really strange, you can only see it at a specific light angle...

The only solution is to put a pickguard on it. I'm thinking mint.

well if you want you could send the body to me and icould "refinish" it for you Patrick Sims style  :icon_jokercolor:

I'm trying to decide if that's hilarious or in rather poor taste..

"Blue" approves!!  :headbang1:

Could you take another picture of "Blue"'s body please?

Put it flat on the ground and shoot her from above with sunlight coming in from the left (or right...), but not too close to it (just lean a bit forward), and make sure no reflects can be seen from your side.

Looks like blue dyed quilt maple is very sensible to the angle of the light that hits it...

I'd like to see yours at a different angle...

I'm toying around with the exact same finish, except with red dye......

What about Eye Tiger ? Not your taste ? I like it better, it shows off better...

Wait'll Friday. I'll be putting together a tiger eye on curly maple Strat w/ a curly koa/ebony neck, and I intend to take a lotta pictures. I might even post a couple of them <grin>

I don't see anything that looks like inconsistency in the finish, but maybe it's subjective

Take a look a t the last picture I've posted (~middle of page 4).

Look at the "top" of the neck pickup, at 11 hour, 3 small white circles...At some sight angles you can see them, at others, nothing...
But hey, that's really no problem for me... :icon_thumright:
