Hey everyone,

I was interested in the compensated nut from warmoth, the corian and the Graph Tech Tusq sound descriptions sound the best but I was planning for a trem on this guitar, so id want a lubricated nut. I saw the black tusq xl and the black does not fit with the guitar im planning and the sound is described as a bit warmer so that isnt an option.  Then today I was looking at the Graph Tech site and saw that they have a new material called Graph Tech Tusq XL. It says that it has the tone of tusq but is impregnated with teflon so it seems to be a good fit for what I want.

Any chance that warmoth will start carrying this? Also have any of you had any expeirience with it?

W does carry Graphtec Tusq nuts. though not in compensated, to my knowledge.
The Tusq XL is the black one w/graphite, the just 'Tusq' is white.

what he said. I have the XL's on a strat and a bass, both with ebony fretboards, so the nut is nice and invisible, which I rather like. They are super smooth for bending, I don't whammy enough to know how they do with the tremolo but im sure they work just as well for that too. Tone wise, I don't think your going to hear that much of a difference between Corian, Tusq, or Tusq XL, but thats just my opinion.

This new type is a white tusq xl, they said it is new for 2010

They now have Tusq, Tusq XL(Which is white and is sapposed to sound like normal tusq), Black Tusq XL, and something called nubone. I just thought it would be nice if warmoth carried a slippery nut that was white too. I havent heard anything else about the new White Tusq XL but it would make sense they could carry it sense they have the two other types

i have the white tusq on my tele deluxe. no problems so far! not only was it perfectly cut (no need for filing!) but my guitar sustains forever. i've never had a guitar that did this, and i'm giving the nut the credit since i've used the same type of bridge on other guitars before. i'm a big fan. as to it being dull or not bright enough, i wouldn't worry. i think a fraction of an inch in height change with the pickups would more than make up for that. just my take on it
