I like it, but I find the white background a bit bright.  Maybe it was just because I had just waken up that it looked brighter than it is, but it really hurt my eyes to look at.  I PM'd Wyliee about it.  Either he changed it, or it just isn't bothering me because I'm wide awake now.  :icon_scratch:

I like the new look, but at the same time, I've become very familiar with the previous design.  I really liked that "custom" look of the previous design, whereas this one seems to have an old-school design to it.  "Dated" is such a harsh word to use, but it's probably the best explanation for it.

"Dated" doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing, but it's just not as fancy as the last.  I like the larger font on the home page, though.

In the end, I really don't care what the forum looks like as long as it doesn't burn my eyes to look at.  The appearance isn't going to cause me to visit the forum any less.  Being a forum "owner" myself, I know these changes can take a lot of time, so I'm sure a fair share was put into the new appearance. 

...And let's be honest, sometimes a change is refreshing.  Personally, I kinda enjoyed the surprise of logging on to the forum for the first time after the change and my first reaction being, "Am I at the right place?"  :toothy12:

I'm not going to be too critical about it, regardless what it looks like.  Someone is being kind enough to spend his/her own hard-earned money so us W fans have a place to shoot the breeze.  In return, the owner of the forum doesn't ask for much, other than to show respect for one another.  While donations are welcome, nobody is singled out for choosing not to donate.  The owner could very well charge everyone a membership fee to cover operating costs.

I'm unfamiliar with the other thread regarding the subject, so I don't know what's being said, but I'd just like to remind people that even though opinions are asked, to those of you who don't like the new appearance, please show some restraint in your comments, and take my above comments into consideration before hitting the "Submit" button.

Can't say I'm crazy about the new look. Feels like a template. I really preferred the old format, but at least I can read my posts as I type.

As long as this forum doesn't go away, I can cope. I need frequent doses of Unofficial Warmoth wisdom, witticisms and most important, exotic wood porn.

Well, I'd suggest that this site really helps Warmoth (the owner of the forum, who moderates it sometimes pretty severely) sell guitars and that it's part of their sales strategy - having a bunch of us raving about their products and showing off our W's doesn't hurt them in the slightest. Notice how they professionalized "guitar of the month" and made it part of the official forum - nothing wrong with it, but it's good to be able to distinguish between altruism and marketing.

Sure, no doubt this forum probably helps W's "cause," but at the same time, allow me to point out that not not all of us are exactly enamoured with the treatment or disappointing products we've received from them.  I will go on record by stating I'm one of them.

Regardless of some of my experiences with them, the pros outweigh the cons.  I just know that if there's a next time, I'll certainly do some things differently, starting with dealing with a different rep than the last one.

In the end, my W is one of the best playing guitars I've ever played, and from a playability standpoint, it's not going to be easily topped.

How about you showing restraint in explaining to me how to restrain myself, if we only gave positive response, then whats the point to asking for people opinions? I'm not trying to get people onboard with my dislike of the new look here, it's just my opinion. As long as it works I'm fine, it just doesn't loook as polished as it did a few days ago,

Oh, I'm sorry, do you feel singled out?  :icon_scratch:  Did you see your name posted anywhere?  No, I don't think you did.  So, the next time, before you just ASSume somebody's pointing a finger, how'bout you make sure before throwing out accusations to insure the next time you "jump the gun," you don't look like a...I'll show restraint.  :cool01:

Secondly, try reading my post AGAIN, because it's VERY clear you didn't.  Let's read between the lines, shall we?  Let me explain it for you, since you either really don't get it, or you're just trying to start crap.

Here goes...ready?  Instead of posting something like "It sucks," or "The old one was better," How'bout CONSTRUCTIVE criticism?

I read your post several times, it was a shotgun post  ie...you didn't single anyone out, but those guilty of your accusations got hit.

Now I didnt say it sucks, i said it looked old, I didn't like it and I liked the old one better.

Nice try, but try harder.  You talk about meds, but you're the one who seems paranoid that my comment was somehow related to your post.  I hear Effexor and Prozac work wonders.  :icon_tongue:

Now, if you read my FIRST post, you SHOULD be able to gather from that post that I too, prefer the familiar design to the new one, but I DO like some of the features of the new one, such as the larger script for the forum's subject titles.  ccasion14:

Yeah seriously, holy cow. In the sticky at the top they said that the format got messed up, and they were fixing it. This is just temporary....

One aspect of the new look I do really like is how nice the GOTM looks at the top of the page. The new background will contrast very well with just about any guitar that winds up there.

wasn't trying to be negative, just sayin the old one looked better to me, some people didnt like that OPINION,
