Back to Floyd Rose, with the new design. I'm not sure someone would build an instrument with six holes and then want a modern type of trem so it must be aimed more as a replacement to give improved performance when your body already has six holes.

Anyway I hope it works out for them as sometimes the only way you'll know is to bring something to market.

Well, I don't get to see their books, but since they're still in business it seems to have worked out for Callaham, Tone Pros, and a few others. They simply take vintage ancient crap designs and manufacture them to closer tolerances out of better materials, then price them like jewelry. It's just turd polishing; there's no real improvement. But, there are those who must have poorly designed hardware on their instruments for appearance's sake and are willing to pay a premium to have the stuff produced as good as it can possibly be. So, I imagine Floyd Rose Industries will move enough product to tolerate the hit on their name.

Well Lamborghini were smart enough to never let their mini van get past the early concept stage.

They did, however, make an SUV from 1986 to 1993 called the LM002 (with a 76 gallon fuel tank).
