I was very excited to have this arrive today:

Pretty red/rust-colored Bubinga peeking out:

Fresh out of the box; you can see some really cool streaks in the Wenge (and my knee):

A nice view of the whole neck:

Specs:
-Bubinga Neck/Wenge Fretboard
-4+1 Tuner Routing (17mm)
-Asymmetric Contour
-1 7/8" Nut Width, with a slotted Corian nut
-6105 Frets
-Abalone Face Dots ( I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but I've always wanted them).

It's an awesome feeling piece of wood, the bubinga is sanded so well it almost feels like a satin finish, but has a surprisingly open grain, and the wenge is similarly finely sanded and very pleasant to the touch, with a less coarse grain than expected (which seems to be a common experience from other threads I've read lately).

Also, I'm not sure how weird this is to point out, but this thing smells great!

This was my tax return gift to myself, and a bit of an impulse purchase, so I didn't finalize the body order for another week or two after I ordered the neck, so it's both awesome and torture to have this awesome neck taunting while I wait for the body to be completed since I have nothing to put it on for now.  I'll live, barely.

Thanks!  I'm really excited about the body: I was a bug in Eric Wylie's ear about it every day for a week or three and he was obscenely patient and helpful, WAY beyond the call of duty.  It's going to be a Swamp Ash Jaguar Bass body routed for the Deluxe 5 neck pocket, soapbar (EMG 40DCX) pickups, and a string-through bridge (Hipshot A-style), with a tobacco burst finish and chrome hardware.

I completely agree, I've seen a lot of variations on bubinga and was thrilled with the job Warmoth did on this.

I test fit the tuners today (1/2" Hipshot Ultralites) and the chrome looks fantastic against the wood:

Thanks everyone for the shared enthusiasm!  :icon_biggrin:
