New Bocote neck~ Trying to do her justice =)

Well as much as I loved my surfgreen strat I just never connected with the width of the nut of the original neck. After a few other builds I found the size I connect with. I came across this beautiful neck in the showcase and snagged her up. I think it is looking good together. I'm waiting on a new pick up to put her all together but with initial impressions of looks I am stoked on how she looks. Hopefully I am doing her justice.

That's not only a really sweet-looking neck, it looks great on that body.

Thanks guys. I'm stoked. Even the girl said that neck looks like it belongs. The vintage tint matches shades of the bocote nicely. I'm excited to get her back together. Already got the frets leveled, crowned and polished.

The neck looks to fit the guitar better than the first one. Good snagging work.  :icon_thumright:

That looks great. I wouldn't have expected bocote to work so well with with the surf green. Good call!

I hope the standard Strat knobs aren't just a temporary thing as I think they look better than the previous wooden ones which always looked a bit too big to me.

Thanks guys! Haha Fat Pete ya those knobs are gone! I switched up to a single conductor PAF bridge and got a single conductor JAZZ neck coming so no more of that coil tap business. Besides I think your right it looks way better then those big ol toasted marshmellow looking knobs  :laughing7:

Man that is a crazy good catch on picking out that neck. Looks great. Let us know how you like using it. Good job.  :toothy10:

Well got her all set up and have fallen back in love. 1 11/16 standard slim is feeling pretty good. This one has a mate finsih and I am liking it. Also changed the pickups to seymour duncan antiquity jazz in the neck and p.a.f. in the bridge. Really loving the combo. I will try to find some time to record a bit so you can hear her. Just focus on the sound and not my playing if I do  :toothy10:

Wow, that is one beautiful neck! Looks even better attached to your axe, sort of like it always belonged there. Nice..............

I have always loved this guitar of yours and it' seven better now.  Such a cool color/option combo and that neck just ties it all together.  LOVE the color of the body.  That's the kind of look that could take a couple nicks and bangs and look even cooler.  Very, very classy retro-modern look.

Thanks guys. I am loving it. Can't put her down again. Just love this neck.

@fdesalvo  My feelings exactly. Already got a couple nicks in her but no worries. If I gotta go somewhere with a guitar this is the one I'm taking. I'm getting a wide range of tones with her. Supper stoked!!
