Working on refining a 2x4 layout I tried on a previous project. I focused so strongly on trying to get the string path straight that the overall shape ended up looking too small for the rest of the guitar, like the shrunken-head ghost from "Beetlejuice."
I just noticed this tiny little bird's-eye inclusion near the scarf joint. I thought it was a dent at first, but it's perfectly smooth to the touch. And as I'm examining the rest of the maple, there are other little unique characteristics that are jumping into view. I love it!
Another nice bonus of a Warmoth shipment during the summer: an empty box and biodegradable packing peanuts can capture the attention of a very bored 11-year-old!
It's 94°F (34°C) with a perceived temp of 107°F (41°C), so there's no playing outside today.
