I saw on another forum the mark 3 on sale, and after some days waiting, I finally got one. its a mark  3, blue stripe, 100w, class a/simul class switch, reverb, graphic EQ, travel-transformer (110v-220v). its been modded with the presence-mod (so the sweep is more even, not as radical as it was before) and the c30 cap (to make it MUCH less bright than it was). I can run it with treble on 10 now, without it being harsh or shrill.

I really like the bright, complex, transparant yet mellow clean. the overdrive (lead) is SUPER tight! its so, so agressive. its much more agressive than any mark I've ever tried, including the mark 5. I really REALLY like this amp! :D

That's a nifty box, Orpheo.  I've liked Mesa gear for a long time.

What's the red head with the Warmoth sticker on it?

That red Amp is an old 5150 modded to slo specs with new trannies, covered in red leather :)

DUDE, you have to post some clips of you playing some of that awesome gear. Do you have any youtube or clips anywhere we can listen to?

Sorry, i have no recording equipment.

The mk3 has a bit more Gain than the mk2c+  also its a bit more agressive. Cleans are nearly identical. mine has a power section identical to the 2c++ if i recall correctly.

Nice find.    I am becoming a Mesa fan.  Those mark III have some great tone and flexabiliy

You have an insane amount of cool gear but no recording program????  :icon_scratch:

I use Guitar Tracks Pro that goes for $30 now & use my cheap cam to post Youtube clips.

Can't you just take a cam video of some of your gear & post it so we can see those awesome guitar & amps in action?

I don't feel the need to record...I buy what makes me happy, not someone else :)

Sounds fine, but don't you feel like putting some of your music on tape? You must have well over $100k in gear. Why not spent $30 for a recording program so you can document some of that awesome gear, not for us, but for yourself.

Do you do much writing or composing?

I don't find recording enjoyable. only annoyable. it annoys me that whatever I hear in my head, I can't put it on record/tape. but if I play 'live' I do hear what I want to hear.

That really is one awesome collection of gear.  :headbang1:

If you ever decide you want to give recording more of a chance, I've gotten really nice results with Audacity, which is free & open source.

That's the nature of all recording I'm afraid, and can be very frustrating. The best way is probably to approach them as two completely separate things.

Use the webcam and microphone on your computer to post a YouTube of two minutes of playing.
That's all we ask.

don't know how to use that... and I'm not willing to spend my precious (playing time ;) ) to learn ;)

the mesa mark3's were a 'work in progress' and were defined by the color of the stripe above the powercord. black or no color was the first, followed by purple, red, blue and green. there are some differences. for example, the black has the least amount of gain, the blue is the brightest, just to name 2 differences. the blue is for me the best version, cause its got the tightest gain, most powerful poweramp, and is the easiest to mod to either red or greenstripe specs (which were done, by the way, so its really a best of all worlds-amp).

the only thing i have to find out is how to dial in the perfect clean. now i get a clean with a little edge, and I want somethin with a bit less edge and more mellowness. the only way I can get that, is by using the EQ :P which ain't a bad thing perse.
