Necks in the showcase without front inlays.

Unfortunately, the red doesn't last. It turns to a brownish-auburn. It's only red for a while after being cut/machined. You can slow that down by finishing it with a UV-filtering clearcoat, but it'll still happen. Just takes a little longer.

I've not used it for a neck, but I've built some small cabinets out of it. The stuff is easy enough to work with, but the sawdust is super-fine and will stain things. Of course, you wouldn't have to worry about that with a neck that's already done.

The grain is a little coarser than I like for a neck - something like raw oak. But, it's a smooth, hard wood so I imagine it would make a nice feeling neck.

If I were to use that neck, I'd probably put it on a white body so the color would never clash regardless of where it went.

This one really wants me to take it home:

That is good info Cagey. Too bad the red doesn't last. Thanks for the thoughts.

Bagman that one is a beaut!!

We have spoken and Warmoth has listened  :icon_biggrin: I am loving what I am seeing in the showroom. I get so stoked seeing all that pretty wood and no markers! A big  :icon_thumright: to Warmoth.

That Ebony/Goncalo part is sweet! Nice price, too. Should probably buy it just to stash it. It'll certainly work well with something.
