Neck Wood Choice?

OK, I currently have a MM Axis Super Sport and a warmoth strat.  I have my single coil and general humbucker covered.  Now I need to start working on my Warmoth LPS body.  It is Black Korina on Black Korina with a traditional LP configuration.  Would a mahogany/rosewood board be too warm mixed with the korina.  I want warmth but I also want to be able to cut some.  I will probably be using some type of SD pickups.  59,pearly gates, etc.  Just looking at getting a nice fat classic sounding guitar.

Mahogany would be slightly warmer than the body. You could do a korina neck to match the body. If you want some bite either way, put an ebony board on it.  :icon_thumright:

That was my first thought.  They only make necks from white korina not black korina like the body.  Other issue is, I really like the look of rosewood.

+1  on mahogany and rosewood... adding also... not the thin profile.  Go for a thicker neck, it'll beef up the tone a bit

Rosewood doesn't need a finish.  Neither do Canary, Wenge, Padouk, Purpleheart or Bubinga.

I've got one of each of these, except Padouk.  They all feel great to play.
