Neck Dyed and Sealed

Went for a vintage meets aged look with the dye job. TransTint Honey Amber dye then  Bulls eye wax free shellac seal coat. Sanded neck to 400 grit before applying dye. Two coats of dye and let dry 24 hours. Sanded dye coat with 800 grit paper to smooth out heavy spots. Ended up with a distressed looking finish on the back and headstock. Not bad looking but too close to relic for me.
Two more light coats of dye, using a dampened cloth (denatured alcohol) to blend and level surface. Let that dry 24 hours and applied 3 (let dry 1 hour between coats) coats of the shellac sealer. Going to let the seal coat dry 3 days and rub down with 0000 steel wool. Will start applying Tru-Oil about Wednesday. Thinking about 4 coats of Tru-Oil then some wipe on poly from Min-wax.
