If anyone is looking for amazing boutique pickups.....Please read on.
The first picture is my stock John Mayer Stratocaster's pickguard.
As you can see, Fenders work is a little sloppy to say the least.
Mayers "Big Dipper" pickups lost their thrill after a while. So I decided I would order a pre-wired
pickguard with top of the line electronics. I choose "Stephensdesign Texas '59 series" The closest sound to
SRV's tone I have ever encountered. I then got Rothstein Guitars to wire and solder everything up using top
shelf pots and caps. When I got the pre-wire in the mail I was more than pleased!...Thats the second picture.
Now I have the Stratocaster that I have always wanted....The sound is perfect, I just needed a beefier neck.
Thats why I sold the Mayer neck and bought a Warmoth SRV.....I should have it soon.
Check out the before & after pictures.....and click the links to see where I found these amazing pickups.
